چکیده

An equidistant fish-eye camera can be calibrated using a single image of two sets of parallel lines in the scene, which is very convenient for practical applications. The core of the calibration procedure is the fitting of center collinear circles that intersect at two vanishing points. A fast and accurate fitting method that can be used for equidistant fish-eye camera calibration is presented. First, the fitting problem is formulated as a nonlinear least square problem and solved using Levenberg-Marquardt optimization. The objective function is also derived, as well as the Jacobian required by the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. It is also demonstrated how to determine the initial estimations. Experimental results on synthetic data have demonstrated the superiority of our method to two existing approaches in terms of speed and accuracy. Results on real data have also demonstrated its effectiveness for fish-eye camera calibration. © The Authors. Published by SPIE under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License. Intrinsic parameter calibration procedure for a (high-distortion) fish-eye lens camera with distortion model and accuracy estimation

-This paper presents a calibration procedure for a fish-eye lens (a high-distortion lens) mounted on a CCD TV camera. The method is designed to account for the differences in images acquired via a distortion-free lens camera setup and the images obtained by a fish-eye lens camera. The calibration procedure essentially defines a mapping between points in the world coordinate system and their cor...

Coplanar circles, quasi-affine invariance and calibration

We define the lines associated with two coplanar circles, and give the distributions of any two coplanar circles and their associated lines. Further we prove that the distribution of two coplanar circles with no real intersection and their associated lines is a quasi-affine invariance. Then the results are applied to calibrating a camera. The calibration method has the advantages: (1) it is bas...

Automatic calibration of fish-eye cameras from automotive video sequences

A technique for calibrating a lens in the automotive environment to compensate for radial distortion introduced by wide-angle or fish-eye lenses, without the need for a dedicated calibration environment, is proposed. At present, car manufacturers are endeavouring to introduce systems that provide the driver with views of the car’s surroundings that are not directly visible (blind zones). To ach...

A Camera Calibration Method using Concentric Circles for Vision Applications

In this paper, we present a new method for camera calibration using concentric circles. We demonstrate that camera calibration is possible using two views of a concentric circle with known size. A new method to determine the position of the projected center of the circle is introduced. Based on the accurate estimation of the projected circle center of two sets of 3-D concentric circles, the pro...
